 Dr. Mike G. Martin. A native Memphian, Dr. Martin received his medical degree with highest honors from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine. He went on to complete his Internship and Residency in internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.

 Board Certified in both internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, Dr. martin has co-authored numerous articles on acute and chronic leukemia, lymphoma, lung, and esophageal cancer in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mike Martin will be educating the radio listeners about Breast Cancer Awareness, signs and symptoms, as well as advanced medicines, and treatments for individuals diagnosed with this disease.

     Study: Black women more likely to die from Breast Cancer.
African- American women in Memphis are more than twice as likely to die from breast cancer as their white counterparts, according to a study released last week. A study conducted by the Sinai Urban Health Institute in Chicago, funded by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer : the International Crusade in New York and published in Cancer Epidemiology, Detection and prevention to be the first study to analyze the racial disparity in breast cancer deaths at the city level.

Although white women are often more often diagnosed with breast cancer, black women are much more likely to die from the disease. the study estimated more that 1,700 black women annually die unnecessarily from breast cancer.

Anita Vincent:
 Registered Dietitian with a specialty designation of : Oncology Nutrition Specialist. Anita has worked in Oncology  for about 15 years, 13 of those with the Wings cancer Foundation at the West Clinic. Ms. Vincent will educate cancer patients about the best diet to consume  in order be feel your very best.
There are foods that oncology patients should eat and many foods that you should avoid. Anita will also inform of of the most important things a person can do, as far as lifestyle is concerned, to reduce their risk of cancer through diet and excercise.

Terri Trotter was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on February 6, 2009,  at the age of 37. At the time of her diagnosis
she was 37 years of age and had 2 children ages 9 and 11. Teri's treatment plan included a double mastectomy and 4
rounds of chemo. The Pink wig stands for power- the power to LIVE YOUR LIFE, and not let cancer rule.
